Apex Communications Sdn. Bhd. was first formed in October 1989 with Apex Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. as its original name. The existing name was changed in July 1995.
The founder of Apex Communications is Tan Sri Abdullah Ali, a civil engineer.Tan Sri Abdullah Ali obtained his civil engineering degree from University Malaya in 1983 and first ventured in the business field since 1985.

   The company initially began in the petroleum field, but due to the rapid development in telecommunication, broadcasting and IT, Apex Communications had ventured into these areas through the supplying, creating solution providers, installation and commissioning of equipments and machines.

 

   Apex Communications has then become the biggest supplier and telecommunication equipments installer to Telekom Malaysia. Furthermore, Apex Communications has taken a step further in this field by setting up its own manufacturing and installation of telecommunication equipments in Subang Jaya.
   Apex Communications is also the shareholder of Business Series Sdn. Bhd., a consortium that manages Ministry of Education’s contracts in supplying laboratory equipments to all local schools under the development budget. Apex Communications has established to be the biggest supplier in this consortium.
   In the telecommunication business line, there are a number of civil tasks components. They include the installation of phone cables and fiber optics, building and construction of towers and buildings such as sub-stations, switch rooms and relay stations. It is through these civil tasks implementations that Apex Communications has obtained an extensive and broad knowledge in the construction work and attracts professional employees to implement the tasks efficiently. Following this Apex Communications has been recognized by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (PKK) as a civil contractor and also registered as a Class A Contractor. In addition, Apex Communications is also recognized by CIDB as a  G7-civil contractor.
   To operate and manages all business transactions, Apex Communications Group employs 600 professional staff where 50 of them are professional.
